Legend says that Mara could "look into your very soul," and then grant your most desired wish - one of three magical gifts: Earthly Riches, Eternal Youth, or Future Knowledge. One way of doing can seize your chances of receiving a reward can only be decoded. With an exotic language engraved into the ancient walls, a secret lie ahead a warning..

The ride won't be be same when rode twice! When heading off on your expedition in your troop jeep you can choose from three doors. Each a passage to one of the wishes Mara the idol will grant you, but be warned, A daring cross, slithering beast, a "down side" drop awaits.

Disneyland's Indiana Jones and the Temple of the Forbidden Eye opened on March 3rd, 1995. The long line was an omen to the ride's for sure success. The ride took 7 years total to make, not exactly a rush job, but worth the wait. It was the first ride to be added to Disneyland's Adventureland since the Enchanted Tiki Room in 1963. "After winding through an elaborate queue-Indy's archaeological camp-that tells the story of the fictitious Indian goddess Mara, guests board a 12-person transport for a ride through the Temple itself. The the minutes that follow are the stuff of movies: spiders, snakes, rats, bursts of flames, treacherous brides, and a terrifying encounter with an enormous rolling boulder, all to the music from the films. There's an estimated 160,000 different combinations of bumps, stalls, and unexpected twists, it's never the same ride twice." - Star Wars Insider #54 With that said, you can just imagine how exciting and adventurous this ride really is!

  • On the ride there is a story that has been passed around the "cast members" (Disney employees) that if you sit in the middle row to the very right you will be instantly killed by a snake that comes at you, of course the snake comes nowhere near you but that is the supposed story, whether it is true or not is up to your own judgment, regardless it just adds to the excitement of the ride.

    Ride Summary

You find a hidden temple in Adventureland by a deserted camp with cars, jeeps, tents, and equipment. As you enter you find bodies of unfortunate adventurers who fell into various traps. Walking along a corridor you find a spike room with a bamboo stick hanging indicating not to pull it, but if you do, the ceiling falls. In another room you hear someone calling for help and assistance from the other end of a rope, if you wiggle it you hear them fall.

You soon enter a briefing spot where a newsreel is being played about the discovery of the forbidden temple, with rumors that the god, Mara, would promise riches inside. Soon you learn the fact that you shouldn't look into the eyes of the idol, that would be very dangerous.

Guests then receive their troop jeep to venture deep into the ruins of the temple to get their wishes granted. As you enter you see a stone scuplture of Mara's head with the eyes blindfolded. As Mara itself speaks to you and offers a grant out of three you enter a door (There are three doors, the one on the left grants you visions to see the future, the middle grants you Earthly riches, and the door at the right grants you eternal Youth )
