Splash Mountain

  One of the most popular rides in Disneyland, and a "not-to-miss"! You will definately see this attraction in Critter Country because it lies in the heart(center) of the "district", A district is just another word for a land at disneyland.
This water flume ride is themed after the 1946 Disney movie "Song of the South" based on Uncle Remus's stories of a zip-a-dee-doo-dah place. The ride winds around the "mountain" as you float pass through scenes from the stories of Brer Rabbit, Brer Bear, and Brer Fox, and take the finale plunge down Chickapin Hill, remember to smile!

  A good ride with a number of thrills for a flume ride, but not as good as "Journey to Atlantis" at Seaworld. But this ride would sure be your laughing place after encountering the brers and the friends.

Ride Summary

  You walk through the queue as you enter the log cabin. You wind around until you come up to the boarding platform where you enter your personal log in your flume journey. You take off and go up a lift, don't worry, thats not a fall. You then take a right turn and cross through the swamps and briar patch. Here you can see others plunge down Chickapin Hill which you will also be entering. Your log goes up another lift, you enter a hollow cabin, be sure to notice the owl! The ride is slowly getting you to the tip of the mountain.

You drift slowly past some miniture houses of the Brers and then you go down a small drop. You have just entered Uncle Remus's story of Brer Rabbit and his adventures! You'll pass a lot of animals like cranes, alligators, frogs, etc. singing "How do you do?" and "Laughing Place."

You will see scenes from to movie, which you probably never seen because at that time it was banned for it's "racial problems" which it doesn't have any. People at that time didn't appreciate others if you know what i mean....anyways you will enter a dark tunnel filled with beehives, but while your looking up you'll go down another unexpected drop into another scene. Brer Rabbit's family mourn the loss of Brer Rabbit because you left his home and haven't came home. Our rabbit was captured by Brer Bear and Brer Fox for food! oh no!

You will see the 2 infamous crows telling you "if you found your happy place, how come you aren't laughing?" and then "help you" pick a laughing place for you which evidentally is the briar Patch, with only one way down!

  You go up a long lift seeing another log in front of you go down, its very tense if it's your fist time on it! You will see a cave in the left and see Brer Rabbit tied up ready to be cooked by Brer Fox and Brer Bear. Brer Fox will say a lot of phrases of what to do to our rabbit but he convices them to throw him into the Briar patch. Remember the briar patch has thorns so they thought it would be bad for Brer Rabbit but that's where he lives!

Whooooosh! you plunge down chickapin Hill and take a right turn. you slowly drift into the finale scene where you see Brer Rabbit's friends singing "Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah" celebrating Brer Rabbit's return!
