Endor Moon: Now Boarding..           Bespin: Delayed

Star Tours is a simulator ride, it is one of the first of the park's attractions that did not use Disney-designed imagery. The first incarnation of the ride appeared in Tomorrowland at Disneyland CA in 1987, replacing the previous attraction, Adventure Thru Inner Space.

    Facts and Secrets

  • At Disneyland CA, Star Tours replaced the attraction "Adventure Thru Inner Space", in which guests were notionally shrunk to microscopic size for travel through a snowflake. Exiting the first scene during the Star Tours film, the Mighty Microscope from "Adventure Thru Inner Space" can be seen.
  • On the PA speaker in the waiting area/queue, a voice says, "Mr. Egroeg Sacul, Mr. Egroeg Sacul." The name is "George Lucas" spelled backwards.
  • When you enter your Starspeeder3000, you can notice a bright red tag on your driver, Rex indicating "Remove Before Flight."
  • The G2 repair droids in the waiting line are actually the skeletons of two goose animatronics from America Sings. They were removed from the show for this attraction during the last 2 years of its run.
(Some of the animals can still be seen today in the finale of Splash Mountain!)
  • On the pre-boarding video the passengers are Imagineers(That worked on the attraction) and their families.
  •  The StarSpeeder 3000 thats being fixed by R2D2 has several blast marks, one of which appears to resemble a Hidden Mickey.

    Ride Summary

You are welcomed into an "airport" when speakers announce to guests(you) about your trip to the Endor Moon in just a few minutes. Through the ride queue the theming of the inside holding area is convincingly modeled to look like a spaceship boarding terminal. With droids working, and operating the terminal, one of the most famous ones C-3PO and R2-D2 working on a damaged Starspeeder.

A picture of the Starspeeders graphed out from different angles in the queue line...

    Capacity: 40 guests

Soon you board your Starspeeder 3000, the doors lock and your pilot, Rex appears and chats up the guests about the trip as he sets up. All goes well until a slight mistake on Rex's part sends the ship down the wrong tunnel and plummeting down into a maintenance yard, just managing to escape to open space before a giant mechanical appendage crushes the ship. That same scene features a tribute to the "Adventure Thru Inner Space" attraction: The "Mighty Microscope" is clearly visible to the right of the screen after the appendage sweeps by. Timidly, Rex (the droid) says it was a fast shortcut and hits the "lightspeed button" to Endor!

Holding the button too long you pass Endor and sweep into a comet field. As the trip gets worse you knock into a gigantic boulder of ice trying to get out. Crashing into stalactites you maze your way out of the icecube. You made it out safely and start to move upwards when you get sucked in by a tractor beam of a Star Destoyer, your in the middle of a battle! Rex manages to get loose when a rebel X-wing fighter

(played by ILM modelmaker Steve Gawley and therefore not to be confused with Wedge Antilles, the popular survivor of three Star Wars films, who was played by Denis Lawson) provides assistance. Soon the ship accompanies the Rebellion on a massive assault on a Death Star.

Following three X-Wings(in the scene of Star War Ep. 4 A new Hope when Luke fires proton torpedoes into the hole to ignite the Death Star) you swoop down into the tunnels and blow up the Death Star. You then lightspeed back to the spaceport and Rex says "I'll do better next time" ....Right....
